Crowded Town
A downloadable puzzle game
Crowded Town: From Village to Metropolis is a DIY solo tile-placing puzzle game that puts you in the architect's seat! Take the card and build your dream city...
The game has a total of 24 puzzles so far and I'm already working on expansions, as the possibilities are almost endless. New city shapes and more cards to come...
Dive into the world of urban planning and DIY creativity with Crowded Town.
The rules are simple - blocks of the same colour can touch at the corners, but never in the edges.
Put the pieces that are listed on the task card into the grid. Then fill the empty space with the remaining pieces. The goal is to fill the entire game board with all blocks.
The game comes with printable paper cards that serve as the blueprint for your city. You also need a 3D print game board (2 parts) and 12 town blocks (three pieces of different shapes, each in four different colours).
For the ultimate gaming experience you can make the whole game magnetic, but it is not necessary and the game will be playable with blocks without magnets. We currently have the rule cards translated into 7 languages (EN, FR, DE, CZ, PL, ES, PT).
The cards will fit on 3 pages of A4 paper, one extra page is taken up by the rules, but they are simple and you don't even have to print them :) Print the card sheets and cut them into individual cards. You can also glue them on cardboard for extra durability. Round the corners for easier insertion into the game board.
For the 3D printed cities you need four colours of filament (and possibly a different colour for the game board). For the magnetic version you need 50pcs of 3mm magnets (2mm high). Print the 3D town blocks preferably with a layer height of 0.15 or 0.1 for best detail. Use a layer height of 0.2 for the two parts of the game board.
When assembling the magnetic version, pay attention to the orientation of the magnets. Use a building block with one magnet at the start to push the magnets into the game board, then push the remaining magnets into the city pieces from gameboard. If you use files that have enlarged holes for magnets, you will probably have to glue them in.

Got the game printed! Looks great!
When it said "2D/3D printable", I thought that meant I it would include flat-printable BOARD and PUZZLE PIECES, not just the cards and instructions. If it is in my download and I missed it, or if this is an option, let me know.
I apologize if the description was inaccurate for you, but both 3d printed parts and flat paper cards are needed for the game. Thanks for the feedback, I will improve the description.
Since I tested the game in a paper prototype, I also have the parts in the form of a simple cutout card with tabs for better handling. I will put a template of the parts to cut out in one of the updates, so that the game can be played in a pure flat printed version.
Great, I'll keep an eye for that. I'd like to test how much I like it before I commit to 3d print.
Nice game that reminds me of the old classics. DIY is a fun element, it doesn't take long to build. And the assignments are really hard, you can't finish in a few minutes. I'm looking forward to the expansion.
